Editorial standards
Grand Regional Journal aims to make careful, readable claims about regional character. We distinguish observation from interpretation, avoid treating a custom or feature as universal, and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against appropriate material before publication and take care with names, meanings, and historical explanations. Where a subject is contested, uncertain, or varies between places, the wording should make that clear. A single example is not presented as a complete account of a region.
Editorial independence
Coverage is shaped by editorial relevance to the publication, not by a promise of favourable treatment. A collaboration does not determine an editorial conclusion, and commercial arrangements are kept distinct from independent editorial decisions.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. Please identify the relevant article and passage and, where possible, explain the issue. We review specific reports and amend material when warranted, making significant corrections clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or otherwise collaborative material is identified clearly as partner content, and paid placements are labelled as such. Partner material does not imply editorial endorsement. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are identified so readers can distinguish illustration from documentary imagery.
Place is made of more than a boundary
A region is not a fixed list of traits. Its character emerges through landscapes, histories, daily habits, and connections that often cross the lines on a map.
